Looking for a Lillio (formerly HiMama) alternative?
Here's an honest one.

Lillio (formerly HiMama) is a well-reviewed childcare app known for daily reports, developmental milestone tracking and curriculum tools, with billing and admin features layered on. Oyku is not a daily-report or assessment tool. It is the emotional layer: a private, per-child photo and video feed with school approval, teacher recognition, social content and a printed yearly book — usually running beside whatever handles reports and billing.

Where Lillio (formerly HiMama) is strong

  • ✓Large, positive review base and familiar parent app in North America.
Where Oyku is a different shape
1

Moments, not logs

Oyku sends a parent the photo of the block tower, not a form saying ‘Fine motor: observed’. The feeling arrives first; the report can follow from your existing tool.

2

No writing for teachers

Capture is a photo, taps on the children and an activity tag. Teachers keep using things that never ask for a paragraph.

3

School approval on every post

Nothing reaches a parent until an admin taps approve. Per-child consent is enforced automatically.

4

Recognition and marketing built in

Reactions land on the teacher's screen; directors pin badges; approved moments become a consent-checked social library.

5

A printed book at year end

Each family receives a hardback of their child's most loved moments with real teacher captions.

Fair is fair

Choose Lillio (formerly HiMama) if…

  • Formal daily reports and milestone tracking are what your families and licensing expect.
  • You want assessment, reports and billing in one tool.
  • Curriculum planning inside the app matters more than the daily emotional experience.
Our honest pitch

Choose Oyku if…

  • You want the app parents actually open every day — a per-child photo and video feed — not another admin portal.
  • Teachers have quietly stopped using your current tool because it asks for text, forms or daily sheets.
  • You need school approval and per-child consent enforced automatically, not by memory.
  • You want approved classroom moments to double as admissions content for Instagram, Facebook and Google Business.
  • You'd like a printed yearly photo book for every family without running a project.
  • You're paying enterprise prices for features the office uses and parents ignore — Oyku is under $10 per child per month.

Questions we get

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

Can Oyku replace our daily reports?

Oyku replaces the emotional job of the daily report — ‘show me my child was happy’ — not the operational log. Some centers drop written daily sheets after a term; others keep them in their existing tool and use Oyku for moments.

Does Oyku track developmental milestones?

Oyku tags moments by activity domain (literacy, motor, social-emotional, creative and so on) and exports per-child summaries. It is not a formal assessment system and doesn't pretend to be.

Is Oyku available in Canada?

Yes. English UI today, with additional languages on the roadmap. Consent workflows map to provincial photo-release expectations.
