For kindergartens & Kitas

Kindergarten life, made visible
to the families who miss it.

Across Europe, kindergartens already document beautifully — on walls, in folders, in portfolios. Oyku brings that documentation into the parent's pocket, one child at a time, with leadership approval and GDPR-grade consent built in. Photos, short videos, reactions, and a printed book at year's end.

What every kindergarten leader tells us about parents

These are the sentences we hear on almost every call with kindergartens, Kitas and early-years schools. If two of them are yours, Oyku will probably feel like relief.

“

“Our Kita app does absences and announcements. Parents call it ‘the notice board’.”

Announcement tools are useful and joyless. Oyku is the other half: the photo of the ant bridge, tagged to one family, arriving at 10:40.

“

“Portfolios live in folders parents see at the annual meeting.”

Keep the folder. Oyku is the daily glimpse that makes the annual meeting a conversation between people who already share a hundred moments.

“

“Datenschutz makes everyone afraid to share anything.”

Fear comes from ambiguity. Oyku makes consent explicit per child, enforces it automatically, and gives you a DPA your Träger's lawyer will actually sign.

“

“Educators leave, and with them the knowledge of what each child loved.”

Every tagged moment stays with the child's record. New colleagues inherit context, not just a name on a list.

“

“Families who speak other languages feel outside the community.”

A photo needs no translation. Reactions need none either. Oyku's captions stay short; the picture does the talking.

“

“We can't post anything publicly and our waiting list is drying up.”

Oyku separates ‘family-only’ from ‘cleared for public’. Only consented, leadership-approved moments become website or social content.

What Oyku does

Everything a kindergarten needs to be seen. Nothing it doesn't.

Oyku is deliberately not a billing, attendance or admin system. It is the layer parents open — and the one that makes your kindergartens, Kitas and early-years schools feel as good from the outside as they are on the inside.

01

A private feed, per child

Parents open Oyku and see only the moments their child appears in — tagged by the teacher, approved by the school. No public timeline, no strangers, no ads.

02

Teacher capture in under 10 seconds

Snap on any phone, tap the children in the photo, pick the activity, post. Oyku handles grouping, captions and tagging so teachers spend time with kids, not with an app.

03

Approval before anything reaches a parent

Admins can review, restrict or approve every photo and video. Per-child consent flags mean a child whose family opted out is never shared — even by accident.

04

Reactions parents actually send

Hearts, stars, smiles, cakes and balloons. Teachers see who loved what. Principals can pin recognition badges to the moments that deserve it.

05

School-approved social content

The best classroom moments, cleared for public use, become ready-to-post content for Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp Channels and Google Business — the admissions engine you already needed.

06

A printed photo book, once a year

Oyku gathers each child's most loved moments into a beautifully printed hardback that arrives at the family's door. Eighteen years from now, there's a row of them on a shelf.

A day with Oyku

A Tuesday at your kindergarten, captured

No new job for teachers. No new inbox for parents. Just the moments that already happen, arriving where they belong.

  1. 8:40

    Drop-off

A tearful goodbye. Ten minutes later a teacher posts a photo of the same child grinning at the water table. A parent on the train exhales.

  2. 10:15

    Circle time

A first hand raised. A first word read aloud. The teacher taps the child, chooses “Literacy”, and posts. The photo is tagged to exactly one family.

  3. 12:30

    Lunch & rest

A quick group photo of the room at nap time. Approved by the admin in one tap from the office. Six families get a gentle ‘all is well’.

  4. 15:00

    Outdoor play

A twelve-second video of a relay race. The principal adds a ‘Teamwork’ badge. Parents react with balloons. The teacher sees them.

  5. 17:30

    Pick-up

“How was your day?” becomes “Tell me about the water table.” The conversation at dinner starts from a photo, not from ‘fine’.

  6. June

    The photo book

The year's best moments — chosen by Oyku, approved by the parent — arrive printed and bound. Real paper. Real teachers' words.

See your kindergartens, Kitas and early-years schools through a parent's eyes, today.

A 20-minute call. A free pilot classroom. No card, no contract.

Built for how you work

Kindergarten looks different in every country

Oyku is used across the US, UK, Europe, the Gulf, India and Asia-Pacific. The product is the same; the language, the consent norms and the reporting expectations are not — so we tuned for each.

Germany, Austria & Switzerland

GDPR/DSGVO data-processing agreement (AVV) and EU hosting available. Consent per child, approval by Leitung, and an export for Bildungsdokumentation. Works alongside absence and messaging apps.

Nordics & Netherlands

Pedagogical-documentation tags, minimal text, and a design that respects the ‘no faces in public’ norm many municipalities follow: family-only by default, public sharing off unless explicitly consented.

United States & international

For kindergarten grades inside elementary and international schools: class-level and child-level tagging, a principal recognition layer, and one-click child summaries for conferences.

Real moments, real days

What a week looks like inside Oyku.

Illustrative moments from settings like yours. Every photo in a real Oyku feed is tagged to one child, approved by the school and shown only to that child's family.

Questions we get

Frequently asked, honestly answered.

Is Oyku GDPR / DSGVO compliant?

Oyku is designed for GDPR from the ground up: explicit per-child consent, leadership approval before any sharing, data minimisation (short captions, no open chat), encryption in transit and at rest, retention controlled by the setting, and a data-processing agreement (AVV) for your Träger. EU hosting is available.

We already use a Kita app for absences and messages. Do we need another one?

Oyku is a different job. Absence and messaging apps are the notice board; Oyku is the window into the room. Many Kitas run both, and parents open Oyku far more often because it's about their child, not about logistics.

How much does Oyku cost for a kindergarten?

Under €9 per child per month; most settings land near €5. Start with a free pilot group for 60 days — no card, no contract. We'll quote your size on a short call.

Can we keep photos family-only and never post publicly?

Yes. Public sharing is off by default. Only moments that leadership explicitly clears — and only for children with public consent — ever leave the family feeds.

What about children whose parents refuse photos entirely?

Mark the child as opt-out. They are never tagged, never appear in other families' feeds, and are excluded from all exports and public content. Their own family can still receive moments if you choose to allow it.

Does it support multiple languages?

The app UI is in English today, with German and additional languages on the roadmap. Because captions are short and the photo does the work, kindergartens with many home languages report high engagement regardless.
