Germany has 61,031 Kitas serving 3.9 million children (Destatis, March 2025), and more than a million parents already use a Kita app for absences and announcements. What most of them don't have is the photo of the ant bridge.
Under €9 per child per month — most settings near €5. EU hosting and a GDPR DPA (AVV) available.
Kitas are regulated at Länder level under the SGB VIII framework, with Träger (providers) responsible for pedagogy and data protection. Bildungsdokumentation is expected almost everywhere; how it reaches parents varies.
The DSGVO applies fully: photos of identifiable children are personal data; sharing needs explicit, specific consent per child; the app vendor is a processor requiring an Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag (AVV); many Träger expect EU hosting and public sharing off by default.
German Kita apps (Stay Informed and others) are widely used for organisation. Oyku is the complementary layer — the approved, per-child moment — and runs beside them.
AVV, EU hosting, consent per child and approval by the Leitung are the expected baseline.
DSGVO: explizite, zweckgebundene Einwilligung pro Kind; AVV mit dem Anbieter; Freigabe durch die Leitung vor jeder Weitergabe; öffentliche Nutzung standardmäßig aus.
Under €9 per child per month — most settings near €5. EU hosting and a GDPR DPA (AVV) available.
