Most childcare apps run the office.
Oyku runs the relationship.
We think the tools below are good at what they do. Oyku is a different shape: the per-child photo and video layer parents open every day, with school approval, consent enforcement, teacher recognition, admissions content and a printed yearly book. Under $10 per child, per month.
Oyku vs Brightwheel
Brightwheel is one of the most widely used all-in-one childcare platforms in the US — check-in, billing, daily sheets, messaging and photos in one place, with pricing that typically scales with enrollment. Oyku is deliberately narrower: it is the parent-facing photo and video layer, with school approval, per-child consent, teacher recognition, social content and a printed yearly book.
Oyku vs Procare
Procare is a long-established childcare business platform, strongest for complex tuition, subsidies, payroll exports and multi-site reporting. Its family engagement tools exist but are typically described as a module within a business system.
Oyku vs Lillio (formerly HiMama)
Lillio (formerly HiMama) is a well-reviewed childcare app known for daily reports, developmental milestone tracking and curriculum tools, with billing and admin features layered on. Oyku is not a daily-report or assessment tool.
Oyku vs Famly
Famly is one of the best-regarded all-in-one early-years platforms in the UK and Europe — observations, invoicing, attendance, staffing and a parent app in one product, priced per setting. Oyku doesn't try to be that.
Oyku vs Tapestry
Tapestry is a widely used, affordable online learning journal for EYFS and Key Stage 1 — excellent for observations linked to Development Matters, with management features added over time. Oyku is not a learning journal.
Oyku vs ClassDojo
ClassDojo is a free, widely adopted classroom app built around points, class stories and messaging between teachers and families, with school-wide features layered on. Oyku takes a different position: no behaviour points, no open chat, and nothing reaches a parent without school approval.
Oyku vs Seesaw
Seesaw is a well-known digital learning portfolio for elementary classrooms: students post work, teachers moderate, families view. Oyku is not a student tool — children never log in.
