Seven habits

  1. 1Ten seconds, then pocket. If the app needs longer than that, the app is the problem.
  2. 2Capture after, not during. Wait for the tower to finish; then one shot.
  3. 3Eyes up rule. Frame, shoot, look up. Tag and post at a natural pause (transition, nap).
  4. 4One device per room, in a known place, in the approved app only.
  5. 5Never at transitions or outdoors near hazards unless a second adult is present.
  6. 6Batch the taps. Tagging children can wait five minutes; the photo can't.
  7. 7No scrolling. The approved app has no feed to get lost in — deliberately.

Tell licensing

Write these into the policy. ‘Staff may capture images for up to ten seconds during free play when a second adult is present; tagging occurs during transitions.’ Specificity reassures.

Why the tool matters

A management app with billing, chat and a daily sheet is a rabbit hole. Oyku's teacher screen does one thing: capture, tap, tag, post. There's nothing else to look at.
