ECDA expectations, PDPA care, one child per feed. Singapore

Singapore's preschool sector is regulated, competitive and multilingual. Parents expect polish; regulators expect documentation; grandparents expect photos. One feed can serve all three.

How childcare works here

What's different in Singapore

Preschools and childcare centres are regulated by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) under the Early Childhood Development Centres Act, with the Nurturing Early Learners framework guiding curriculum. Partnership with families is an expectation.

The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) governs children's images as personal data: consent, purpose limitation, protection and retention obligations apply; the vendor acts as a data intermediary under contract.

A large international-school community and families spanning English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil make photo-first communication especially effective.

Regulator / inspection

ECDA / PDPC (PDPA)

Per-child consent, approval before sharing and a data-intermediary agreement are the baseline.

Consent & data

PDPA: consent per child for collection, use and disclosure of images; purpose limitation; protection and retention obligations; vendor under contract as data intermediary.
